Understanding Rights and Responsibilities: A Practical Introduction to Child Rights and Child Protection

Course Objective

This course aims to empower students with awareness and understanding of child rights as guaranteed under Indian and international laws. It will provide students with the tools to recognize, respect, and advocate for the rights of children, along with understanding protection mechanisms in place to prevent abuse, exploitation, and neglect.

Who Can Attend

All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation jointly issued by Pacific School of Law and the Collaborating Institution.

    • Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act
    • POCSO Act: Protection from Sexual Offences
    • Right to Education Act (RTE)
    • Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act
  • Module 3: Recognizing Abuse and Taking Action
    • Types of Abuse: Physical, Emotional, Sexual, Neglect
    • Reporting Mechanisms and Helplines
    • Role of Police, Child Welfare Committees, and NGOs
  • Module 4: Interactive Engagement
    • Poster Making: "Every Child Matters"
    • Group Role Play: Reporting and Responding to Abuse
    • Quiz: Know Your Rights
  • Module 5: Rights in Real Life
    • Children in Conflict with Law
    • Rights of Children in Institutions (Shelters, Schools)
    • Voices of Resilience: Stories of Change and Empowerment
